How do you condense 50 years into a few paragraphs? In 1963 I married Peter
Holmes-Ray and we moved to Virginia Beach, VA. In 1967 our son, Calvin was
born and 1970 our daughter, Barbara (Brandy) was born. Pete worked at the
Norfolk Naval Shipyard and after the children were born I stayed at home to
keep hearth and kids.
As the kids grew we became real outdoors folks, raced catamaran sailboats,
whitewater canoeing, camping and archery. In 1980 Pete went with the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission and we moved to Baxley, GA where we stayed for seven
and a half years. I went to work with the school system as a teacher's aide
working with the "Cedarwood" program. We also raised Newfoundland dogs and
had our own kennel. Then the chance to move back to Florida came and we
jumped on it.
We moved to Crystal River, on our 25th wedding anniversary. What a great
gift! Pete is retired from the Federal Government and I have been a Realtor
for the past seventeen years. I have been with Century 21, Nature Coast for
13 years. Both of our kids are in the area and have given us five beautiful
extremely bright grandchildren. (This is defiantly a Grandmother speaking.)
We have four girls and one boy, ranging in age of 15 to 9. Peter and I
enjoy boating, camping and MUSIC! I play "Handbells" with our church and
Pete plays the guitar. Wish we could see you all but have prior commitments,
but will be thinking of you all. Have really enjoyed the emails; hope they
continue in the future. If you all are up our way give us a holler and stop
in.
